Opened in autumn 2013, Armada Golf Club in Bytom is located on the ground of the former coal mine KWK Szombierki mine. It is the biggest post-industrial area revitalization project in Poland. Industrial activity in this area was completed several years ago. Currently, the varied topography of the area, post-mining ponds, rich flora and fauna allow it to fulfill recreational functions. The element that directly resembles the history of this place is still the 57-meter historic mine tower “Krystyna”.
Golfers coming to Armada Golf Club known also as Srebrne Stawy have at their disposal a 9-hole golf course, a small clubhouse and a training area: driving range, putting and chipping green.
Driving range was opened in 2011. There are 9 covered stands and 20 250 m grass lawn stands there. Golf course design was assigned to an experienced golf course architect and also a member and regional representative of European Institute of Golf Course Architects from Germany Christoph
